Am I a candidate?

Patients who are dealing with tooth loss are excellent candidates for this reliable, cost-effective implant system. However, all patients will need to be cleared medically before undergoing the procedure, which usually involves anesthesia. Additionally, patients need to have adequate bone structure to support the implants. They should be non-smokers who are free from gum disease and who have realistic expectations for their results based on their private consultation with our team.

What can I expect from the procedure?

The consultation

The treatment process begins with a detailed consultation where we will go over the pros and cons of the surgery and make sure you understand the process in depth. We will listen to your concerns and ensure that All-on-4’s are the best approach to achieving your goals.

Placing the implants

During the initial treatment phase, we will create small incisions in the gums in order to place the titanium posts that will support your new teeth. After this, you will need to wait for about 3-6 months as the posts meld with your jawbone.

Temporary restorations

The next phase involves connecting abutments to the four jaw implants. Impressions of your mouth are then captured by our lab and used to customize your restorations. You will be fitted with temporary teeth while waiting for your crowns and bridges to be fabricated.

Permanent restorations

During your final visit, your permanent restorations will be fitted to your implants using cutting-edge technology that minimizes your downtime and maximizes your comfort.

What will my recovery entail?

For the first 3 days after your session, it is advised that you rest and heal. If you underwent the surgery with anesthesia, a friend or family member should escort you home and stay with you for 24-48 hours to assist with basic tasks. As you recover, avoid probing, pulling on, or otherwise disturbing the surgical sites so as not to tear the sutures. You will receive prescriptions for pain medications. An ice pack may also be helpful in mitigating any soreness.

Patients should avoid physical exertion for the first week and aim to keep their heart rates low. They should refrain from flossing for the first 2 weeks but otherwise should continue to follow their normal oral hygiene routines.
